Cassie was SO EXCITED. Her mum had finally said she could have Ethan over for the afternoon, and she was practically falling over with giddiness. She really wanted to see about scheming up a surprise party for Pim's birthday later in the summer, but really, she had nothing planned for the whole day. She figured they'd think of something.

She stood (well, bounced, really) by the front door, trying to figure out if Ethan would come up the path, or through the fireplace. She couldn't remember, she was far too wound up.

If anyone wants to thread with my hyper first year, LET ME KNOW. She needs to get out more.

"Christmas trees are red and green, sometimes gold and silver. Not pink." Pimento looked as though the tiny tabletop tree had personally offended her.

"They're very fashionable," Cassie retorted, poking the cover of a decorating magazine. "See, white tree, pink ornaments, silver garland and star."

"Your mother would be horrified." She'd seen the Carys house at Christmas -- traditionally festive.

"Well, it's not her tree, I'm on my own this year. I can do what I want."

"First and last year for that," Pimento muttered under her breath.

"I'm sorry?"

"Nothing. Did you and Ethan have plans for the holidays?"

Once again, bored in econ, wrote a drabble.

Finally, exams were over for the 6th years...they'd been bad, but not as terrible as OWLs, Cassie thought as she headed outside. She had no idea where Pim was (though she strongly suspected her friend's absence could be blamed on one Gillichu Chandler, she hadn't dared express that theory).

She laid down in the grass by the lake, basking in the sunlight. Before she knew it, she had dozed off.

It's my birthday!!!

I'm 12 now!

YAY!

I hope my mum figures out a way to send me pink cupcakes...I always have cupcakes with pink frosting for my birthday.

And it's even a weekend so I don't have classes!
